Own a genuine piece of Australia’s famous opal fields and transform this extraordinary gemstone into a bespoke jewellery creation that will be treasured for years to come.

Meet Emberstorm, a striking natural Australian boulder opal weighing 8.2 carats and measuring approximately 11mm x 15mm. Small but full of character, this gemstone combines glowing orange and caramel tones with unexpected flashes of vivid precious opal.

Across its polished surface, warm ironstone creates an intricate landscape of burnt orange, russet and golden brown. Scattered through it are fine seams and pinpoints of electric blue and violet, with occasional hints of green appearing as the stone is turned beneath the light.

One side has an especially fiery appearance, with concentrated golden-orange areas that seem almost illuminated from within. From other angles, the deeper brown matrix comes forward and the cooler blue and violet flashes become more pronounced, creating a dramatic contrast between earth and colour.

The reverse reveals another natural composition, including lighter cream and golden areas amongst the richly textured ironstone. Polished on both sides, Emberstorm offers plenty of visual interest despite its compact proportions.

Its 8.2-carat weight and neat freeform shape make it an appealing choice for a distinctive handcrafted ring, pendant or other bespoke jewellery design where the natural character of the stone can remain the focus.

It is available to purchase as a loose gemstone or can be selected for commission work with our silversmith.
